Recently, we had the privilege of capturing stunning photos for Glowterra, UAE’s first clean-only beauty retailer, during an exclusive event that brought together some of the most innovative beauty brands and passionate clean beauty advocates. As Imprint Studios, we were in charge of documenting both the photos and videos of the event, allowing us to witness the inspiring journey of Glowterra’s founders, Mamta and Ranjeet Laugani , unfold through our lens.
Mamta’s story begins right here in Dubai, where she was born and raised. Her love for beauty blossomed early, driving her to the United States. It was in the US that Mamta laid the foundation of her beauty journey. Over the course of a decade, she and her husband Ranjeet lived in Chicago and New York, raising two children and soaking up the vibrancy of these global cities. Mamta’s passion for beauty was complemented by her desire to bring transparency and integrity into the industry. This desire only grew stronger over time, eventually guiding her path back to Dubai.
Ranjeet, who hails from Bombay (Mumbai), brought his wealth of experience in marketing, honed over two decades in the United States, to the table. Ranjeet’s marketing expertise paired seamlessly with Mamta’s vision, and together, they embarked on their shared dream of starting a business that would transform the beauty industry. Before launching Glowterra, the duo had already made their mark with The Great Indian Ayurveda Co., a brand centered around clean beauty products sourced from India.
Glowterra, their latest venture, is much more than just a beauty retailer. It represents a movement aimed at making clean beauty accessible and educating consumers about what clean beauty truly means. As Mamta and Ranjeet have learned through their journey, the distinctions between clean, organic, and natural products are often confusing to consumers. Glowterra was created to fill this gap and set new, higher standards in the beauty industry.
Competing against beauty giants like Sephora, Mamta and Ranjeet knew they had to offer something unique. And so, every product at Glowterra is handpicked by the founders, going through a rigorous 3-point clean rating system that ensures it meets the highest standards of safety, transparency, and efficacy. Whether it’s renowned global brands like Bioderma or homegrown gems like Rehwa, each product is carefully curated to align with their philosophy.
Mamta and Ranjeet’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Clean beauty, though a growing movement globally, is still a relatively new concept in the UAE. The founders have had to focus not just on providing products but also on educating consumers about the importance of clean beauty and the impact it has on both personal health and the environment.
