Premium accessories succeed online when the imagery is precise, consistent and faithful to the product in hand. For this assignment we produced product photography in Dubai for a luxury handbag organiser insert designed for compatibility with Hermès styles. The brief prioritised colour-accurate product images, readable texture and a refined presentation suitable for both e-commerce and brand channels. Below is the approach we used at Imprint Studio (Dubai) and the standards we apply when shooting high-value accessories.

Project objectives: luxury accessory photography

– Create clean e-commerce product photos on white and a complementary set of lifestyle frames.

– Maintain accurate colour, visible structure and premium finish across every image.

– Deliver files that upload quickly to web, marketplace and social platforms.

Lighting strategy: studio lighting for leather and felt

Texture signals quality. We used a controlled three-light plan that renders fibres, stitching and edges clearly:

Key – a large, soft source at 45 degrees, slightly above eye level. Feathered to avoid hotspots and preserve surface detail.

Fill – white bounce at approximately 20–30% of key output to lift shadow without flattening form.

  • Accent – a gridded strip in a three-quarter back position to create a fine contour highlight. Spill was flagged to protect contrast and avoid lens flare.

Colour accuracy and consistency: honest tones that reduce returns

Luxury shoppers care about colour. Getting it wrong increases returns. We set a custom white balance with a grey card, then shot a colour checker at the start of each set. Every head was locked to the same Kelvin. We tethered to a calibrated screen so the beige organiser matched the real sample in the room and the leather bag stayed neutral. This matters for lifestyle product photography in Dubai, where mixed light is common if you are not careful.

Shot list: white background packshots and lifestyle frames

We built the gallery around two uses – commerce and brand.

White background packshots

– Front, 45°, side, top, and base

– Interior open with visible pockets

– Flat lay showing compartments

– Fold detail and seam close-up

Lifestyle frames

– Organiser beside the bag for a clean size read

– Insert sliding into the bag

– In-use with everyday items – phone, wallet, small pouch

– Gentle editorial angle with shallow depth for social

The white background set gives marketplaces what they need. The lifestyle set builds desire and answers questions about fit and capacity.

Post-production standards: retouch for trust

Retouching is where many brands go too far. We remove dust and loose fibres but keep the real texture. Stitching stays sharp. Colour stays honest. Paths are pixel clean for white backgrounds. We export sRGB web files for store and marketplace, and a larger print master for press or lookbooks. Consistency across colourways is checked before delivery so pages look like a family.
